Website Proposal
The goal was to create a persuasive presentation of a UX strategy for a new website. The objective was to use the five approaches for product development process by Jesse James Garrett’s: strategy, scope, structure, skeleton, and surface. Garrett’s five planes are dependent of one another, one cannot work without the other.
My presentation was a third-party entity website named Bakeshops which gives space to bakeries for a monthly fee of $19.99. The site is both valuable for consumers and the bakeries. On the user side, they won’t have to miss work or rearrange their schedule to order at their favorite bakery. On the bakery side, they can just focus on the baking, instead of trying to maintain a website.
To emphasize the need of the website, three working adults were interviewed, and each mentioned the struggle of having to rearrange their work schedule when it comes to ordering from their favorite bakeries.
Scope, the website, has four features: Account, Favorite, Shopping Cart, and order online. These features are designed to save the consumers information for fast checkout the next time they visit.
Structure, the end-user, interacts with the website and accomplishes their goal of placing their order by navigating through the websites. The end-user uses the site map through a step-by-step process by clicking on various pages such as the homepage, bakery page, customize, and checkout, to place the order. Meanwhile, the bakery receives the order.
Skeleton shows how content is displayed and how the end-user will move around the site. Six low-fidelity wireframes were created to show how the interactor will move around the site and how content will be represented on the Bakeshops website.
Surface, the interface of the website, gives a visual representation of how users will interact with the site. Microsoft PowerPoint was used to create the presentation, and Mockup was utilized for the designs of the low-fidelity wireframes.

Darksome Moon Project
The Client was Jennifer, founder of the Darksome Moon Coven, who contracted my services on a Freelance project to redesign her groups website. Jennifer expressed that she wanted something modern, organized, simple, and easy to navigate for all ages. Currently, the client felt that the website was out of touch, was difficult to navigate, and did not represent the group’s identity. During the initial meeting, I discovered that the group has a logo, but it was not emphasized on the site. I discussed brand identity such as color palette, typography, voice, and core values. I explained to Jennifer that all these build trust, loyalty, and identity with potential group members. I also suggested using the logo as inspiration to the website’s redesign and color palette, which Jennifer agreed. I informed her that as a brand, she should maintain all platforms (social media and the website) with the same name to make it easy to identify for the end-users. While conducting research on the group, I noticed that her group’s name interchanges between the Coven of the Darksome Moon and the Darksome Moon Coven. We also discussed domain hosts and transferring her domain to another host as Jennifer was not happy with Wix. We agreed that she will cancel her website with Wix and the new site will be created on Squarespace as she did not want to transfer the domain.

Low Fidelity Wireframe
In the second meeting, the client was presented with six low fidelity wireframes for the websites redesign. The client was asked to focus on the content placement, flow, and structure instead of the aesthetics. The Client was content with the wireframe, especially the navigation menu which she felt was appropriate to the group. However, she requested a few modifications: (1) Add text to the community page (fieldtrips) describing that the group is building connections with other likeminded groups, as well as indicate that they go on outings as a group, (2) add a newsletter subscription to the join page, and (3) in the same page include a questioner for users interested in joining the group. Jennifer explained that the questioner allows her to determine how much experience or knowledge the end-user has on the topic of Wicca or Paganism.

Final Feedback
The client liked the attention to detail, the color palette, the clear voice, and usability. She also liked the font style and font size which makes the typography easy to read. She felt that the website was easy to navigate for all types of users, young and older generations. Jennifer made special mention of certain areas of the site such as, the home page, the footer, the community page, the coven corner page, and the witchy mail. The client felt that her goals were met, and I understood the group’s core values and identity.
