Created market research and looked at the business’s logo, color scheme, and tone of voice to build trust and loyalty with its users.
This was a group project and the client was Marcella, the creator of Oh Comadre Candles. The client already has many followers on Instagram and TikTok, but acknowledged that lately she did not know how to continue captivating her audience. As a team we collaborated to write a proposal to Oh Comadre Candles in which we detailed the implementation of a social media plan. We created a plan for both Instagram and TikTok, since the client uses these as her main platforms.
My parts entailed creating the group communication plan and task breakdown, to keep each other accountable of our tasks, as well as conduct research on the target audience and demographics. Given that I was the only Technical Communications major in the team, part of my contribution entailed providing edits, corrections, and creating the visual design of the document.
In the social media plan, we included information about the company, its professional needs, and social media presence. By doing extensive research on the trends and behaviors of the audience through Instagram View Insights and TikTok More Insights, a picture began to emerge. Understanding the audience through age, gender, location, and most active day and time of the week, we learned that the target audience is more active on Instagram than TikTok.
We also defined the current audience and the target audience for the organization. We created examples of content and a schedule for posting. The list management detailed the pre-launch task, content release schedule, staffing, budget, and metrics of success. We provided a social media explanation in which we detailed our recommendations and reasons for the strategy plan.
The social media plan included a persuasive proposal detailing why the social media plan should be implemented by Oh Comadre Candles for an increase of brand visibility, engagement, and business goals.
